Dr. Nison Badalov earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, New York, and his Doctor of Medicine degree from St. George’s School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. He continued his training at Maimonides Medical Center in New York City, where he completed a Residency in the Department of Internal Medicine, and a Clinical Fellowship in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Dr. Badalov also took part in a Clinical Hepatology Fellowship in the Department of Transplant Hepatology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.
Board certified in Gastroenterology, Dr. Badalov has been in practice with Gastroenterology Associates of Brooklyn since April 2014. He has extensive experience performing such procedures as colonoscopy, upper endoscopy (EGD), esophageal PH monitoring and advanced therapeutic endoscopy, including stent placement, dilatation, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and ultrasound-guided liver biopsy. Dr. Badalov also currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York.
The recipient of several awards and honors throughout his career, Dr. Badalov has participated in many research trials and presented his findings at national conferences. He is the author of numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, as well as various book chapters on clinical gastroenterology and hepatology. Dr. Badalov has also served as a consultant for assorted industry events, such as the Vertex Pharmaceutical-Incivek Expert Series Speakers Bureau and the Gilead Pharmaceuticals-Viread Series Speakers Bureau. He is an active member of the American College of Gastroenterology.
